Vehicles & Crews (Changes in effect
starting with Dusk, Dec 17 turn)
Vehicle recovery will be attempted following each battle.
Only the side that controls the hex will be able to
attempt to recover damaged vehicles. Recovery will only
be attempted provided you have a crew remaining to
attempt it. There is a 75% chance of recovering an
abandoned vehicle and a 50% chance of recovering an
immobilized one. All remaining vehicle crews will be
pooled before any recoveries are made. Recovery attempts
will then begin with the most valuable vehicle eligible
for recovery and then work its way down. If a vehicle is
recovered then the necessary crewmen are deducted from
the pool to man the just recovered vehicle. Recovery of
other vehicles will then continue until no more eligible
vehicles remain or you run out of crewmen.
Vehicles that were abandoned will be returned on the
following schedule (based on the percentile dice roll for
recovery):

Support Weapons
Following the attempt to recover vehicles any remaining
crewmen will be used to replace men lost in support
weapon units (MG Teams, Mortar Teams, etc.). This process
will continue until all lost men have been replaced or
you run out of crewmen. Any left over crewmen will then
be added to the infantry force pool for rebuilding the
infantry units.
Infantry
All HQs and infantry surviving a battle (and remaining
crewmen) will be placed in a force pool and then
redistributed to build platoons. Ex. A U.S. rifle company
has 126 men in Company Hqs, Platoon Hqs, and squads. Lets
say after a battle there are 95 men left. These 95 men
would be pooled and then the following units created.
1 x Company Hq (6 men)
1 x Platoon Hq (4 men, 10 Total)
3 x Rifle Squads (36 men, 46 Total)
1 x Platoon Hq (4 men, 50 Total)
3 x Rifle Squads (36 men, 86 Total)
1 x Platoon Hq (4 men, 90 Total)
This leaves 5 men and the only units left to create are
rifle squads. Since 5 is less than half of the normal
strength of a rifle squad these 5 men are lost and
considered walking wounded that finished the battle but
needed hospitalization afterward. Had there been 6 men
left then another rifle squad would have been created
with the additional 6 men being considered men
temporarily incapacitated or lost that were able to
return to duty following the battle.
Finally, if an HQ unit was eliminated during the
battle but rebuilt during this process, its leadership
modifiers will be replaced with new modifiers the next
time that HQ enters battle.
